Zoompass on Global News

If you were watching Global Television last Thursday, you would have noticed a familiar face (or at least a face we see around the office every day) — our fearless leader Robin Dua.

The president of EnStream — the company behind Zoompass — appeared in a segment about mobile commerce. While he looked sharp, it wasn’t his handsome grey blazer that got our attention. It was Robin’s comments on the future of money. “It really is the beginning of what we believe is going to be the mobile wallet,” he said. Alan Middleton, a professor at the Schulich School of Business echoed Robin’s comments saying, “retailers would love cash to go away.”

Right now, the Zoompass Tag is in a trial phase — select users will receive the sticker — so we can collect data to make the experience better and faster for everyone. It’s only a matter of time though until the “mobile wallet” that Robin was talking about becomes the norm and taking out cash from an ATM will sound as strange as standing in line to pay a bill.

Win Kid Carson’s Cash with Zoompass!

In March Zoompass was a hot topic on the Kid Carson Morning Show, on The Beat 94.5 FM in Vancouver.  Kid Carson was Zooming money away live on the air!  To participate listeners had to register for Zoompass and send Kid Carson a money request for $50.  A total of twenty-one $50 money requests from listeners were “accepted” and one grand prize of $1000 was also given away.   Kid Carson received overwhelming response from listeners: “Hey!  I TOTALLY just won Kid’s Cash this morning!  It made my morning and I just wanted to say thanks!!”  Well, you’re TOTALLY welcome Keery – it was our pleasure!  Now get Zooming!

Shaheen of Delta B.C. was the lucky winner of the $1000 grand prize: “I didn’t believe it till I heard my voicemail on the radio and was like OH MY GOD!” says Shaheen.  “I was just aiming for the $50 but I’ll take the $1000!”  Imagine if she had aimed a little higher or answered the phone.
