None of the people working on Zoompass are here to win awards, but you can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you’re recognized for good work. So, with that in mind, we want to let everyone know that Zoompass just won a Canadian Innovation Award from Advanced Card Technologies (ACT) Canada.
ACT Canada is an organization that’s all about secure payment and secure identity management. Their members include companies in the financial, government, transit and retail spaces, among other groups. So, what we’re saying is that we’re really pleased to be recognized for our achievements by them.
We won the award for Best Mobile Application for the Zoompass Mobile Wallet, which is available for download to most top phones including BlackBerrys, iPhones and Android phones. While we’re pleased to win the award, what we’re really excited about is that it was recognized from an organization that values safety and security.
One of the reasons the judges liked Zoompass is because of our leading edge encryption technologies. You need a PIN to send money, your information is stored on secure servers — never on the phone itself. That means that if you lose your phone, you’re not losing your money— and transactions are backed by MasterCard’s zero liability guarantee.
They also liked the fact that you can quickly send money to friends using our easy-to-navigate app, so not only is it safe, but it’s speedy and convenient. Oh, and it’s cheap to use. Setting up an account costs nothing. Adding money costs nothing. Requesting and receiving Zoompass money transfers is also free. There’s a small charge when you send money to another user or transfer money from your Zoompass account to your bank account, but other than that you don’t pay a cent. They liked all of that.
So, as you can tell we’re happy to have won, but now it’s time to get back to work. Wait until you see what we’ve got planned to win next years’ awards!
