Not so. I tried to use my card at Sobeys in Atlantic Canada and got an “authorization Declined” which was both irritating and embarassing to say the least. Customer Care says that the merchant “apparently” does not accept pre-paid MasterCards. When is a MasterCard not a MasterCard and so the FAQ online is incorrect and the marketing is misleading.
I’ll pay the 50 cents and transfer my balance back to my bank account.
OK – I’ll backup. I just received a call from Customer Care informing me that they had delved deeper into the issue and found that my card was not activated (It did not have instruction to activate when I received it, honest) We’ll call it an oversight.
So I hope that will solve the problem.
